Michael Akavan

Michael Akavan has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Michael began their career as a Chief Technology Officer and Webmaster at NDN (New Democrat Network) from June 2004 to June 2006. Following this, they worked as a Litigation Associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP from November 2009 to August 2010. Michael then served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable William H. Walls at the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey from August 2010 to August 2011. Michael returned to Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as a Litigation Associate from October 2011 to October 2020. Currently, Michael Akavan holds the position of Head of Litigation at Cronos Group since October 2020, and they are now serving as Deputy General Counsel as well.

Michael Akavan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, completing their studies from 2001 to 2004. Michael then pursued a Juris Doctor degree in Law from the University of Virginia School of Law, where they studied from 2006 to 2009.
