Derek Hui

Derek Hui joined the Crop One team in 2021 as the VP of Digital Systems and Innovation. Mr. Hui brings a wealth of software engineering skills and experience to the team as we develop our proprietary digital systems, such as the Farm Manager Software. He has held several software development roles throughout his career with multiple cradle-to-grave product life cycles in medical devices, DoD, and telecommunications environments. Most recently, Mr. Hui was the Director of Software Engineering at Teledyne FLIR, where he was responsible for recruiting, training and developing software leaders and teams, providing strategic software direction for AI and robotics, and contributing to all aspects of the product development life cycle. Previously, he also held the Principal Software Engineer position at Cynosure, where he drove continuous improvement of software development across multiple products. Mr. Hui received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and Master's in Computer Science from Boston University and his MBA from Boston College.
