Dafna Dothan

Dafna Dothan is the current Chief Risk Officer at Cross River. Prior to this, they served as the EVP, Chief Risk Officer at Bank Leumi USA from December 2012 to March 2022. In this role, they led a team of 60 professionals in credit, operational, market, and enterprise risk to identify, monitor, analyze and mitigate risk. Dafna also developed and implemented enhanced methodologies, frameworks, processes and tools to quantify and articulate risks and establish mitigations.

Under their leadership, the company has seen a continuous and comprehensive risk management cultural change ensuring risk owner accountability and achieving appropriate oversight and control. Additionally, they have successfully built and delivered risk management strategies, methodologies, policies and tools leveraging advanced analytics. Dafna has also set risk appetite and limits structure while ensuring adherence to regulatory risk management requirements throughout the enterprise including BASEL, stress testing, model risk management, introduction of new products and more.

Most recently, they have developed and implemented an enterprise KRI dashboard to facilitate informed decision making by executive management, the Board of Directors, and key stakeholders. Prior to this, they redesigned the end-to-end Credit Risk Management process including creating a new organizational structure to improve underwriting quality and efficiency, resulting in enhanced credit quality metrics while maximizing the customer and employee experience.

Dafna Dothan has a Master of Business Administration from Tel Aviv University - Coller School of Management, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and an Authentic Leader Development Executive Program from Harvard Business School.
