Dave Vellante

Co-Founder & Board Member at Crowdchat

Dave Vellante is a co-founder of Crowdchat and SiliconANGLE, where they also serve as CEO and CO-host of theCUBE. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, including stints as a contributing writer for Internet Evolution and as the Chief Research Officer for Wikibon.

Dave’s career in tech began in the late 1990s, when they started writing a weekly column on emerging Web 2.0 topics for Internet Evolution. In 2007, they co-founded Wikibon, where they led research efforts around open source sharing of free advisory knowledge.

In 2010, Dave took their knowledge of the tech industry and applied it to television, becoming the co-host of theCUBE, a live show that covers tech news and events. Dave has since transformed SiliconANGLE into a multi-platform media company, with a focus on research, publishing, live TV, social engagement, and analytics.

Most recently, Dave has turned their attention to Crowdchat, a cloud-native SaaS platform that enables the confluence of streaming media, real-time conversation, and social distribution. Under Dave’s leadership, Crowdchat has been featured in major publications and won the Hot Startup Award from Aragon Research for Enterprise Group Chat software.

Dave Vellante has a B. Sc. in Applied Mathematics from Union College. Dave also has a minor in Computer Science.
