Vineet Sangar holds a PhD and has gained valuable work experience in various roles throughout their career. Vineet started their professional journey as a Research Assistant at Pennsylvania State University in 2003. After that, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, where they developed computational systems biology tools and worked on mass spectrometry projects related to cancer and protein biomarkers. In 2011, Vineet joined the Institute for Systems Biology as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later became a Research Scientist. During their time there, they conducted statistical analysis of omic scale data and integrated multi-omic data to gain biological insights. Vineet also worked on quantifying invasive proteins in glioblastoma and contributed to novel drug candidates. Vineet then joined Amazon in 2017 and held multiple roles as a Research Scientist in machine learning. Vineet used anomaly detection, trend analysis, forecasting, and deep learning techniques to develop models for business goals. Additionally, they utilized data mining, visualization, and natural language processing/understanding to analyze the context of emails. Currently, Vineet is working as a Principal Data Scientist at CrowdStrike.
Vineet Sangar, PhD, obtained their PhD in Bioinformatics from Penn State University from 2004 to 2008. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Agricultural Sciences from Penn State University from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their formal education, Vineet obtained several certifications, including a Deep Learning MLOPS certification from Coursera in 2021, and various machine learning and deep learning specializations from Coursera between 2014 and 2019.
