Joe Kiger has extensive experience in marine engineering, currently serving as First Assistant Engineer at Crowley Maritime since August 2017. Prior to this, Joe held the position of Chief Engineer Unlimited at Hornbeck Offshore from November 2009 to August 2017, where responsibilities included overseeing the Engineering Department, ensuring safe plant operations, and conducting performance evaluations. Joe's previous roles at Hornbeck Offshore included First Assistant Engineer, Second Assistant Engineer, and Third Assistant Engineer, with a focus on engine department management, maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations. Joe began a career in marine engineering as an Engine Cadet with Keystone Shipping, Military Sealift Command, and Sea Star Lines from 2006 to 2008 after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering Systems from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 2009.
