Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at Crowley

Tim Bush has a diverse work experience primarily in the maritime industry. Tim started their career as an Engineer at Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, where they supervised naval architects in analyzing the stability of offshore structures. Tim then moved on to ABS, a not-for-profit marine classification society, where they served as an Associate Counsel and later as a Senior Counsel/Assistant Corporate Secretary. At ABS, they provided legal advice, drafted contracts, and supervised litigation matters and government investigations.

Afterwards, Tim joined Crowley Maritime as a Senior Corporate Counsel, where they served as the primary legal and risk management resource for multiple business lines, including offshore construction project management, tug and barge fleet operations, logistics and freight forwarding, and salvage/wreck removal. Tim later became the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel at Crowley Maritime, continuing their role as the primary legal and risk management resource for various business lines.

Prior to their role at Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, Tim also worked at American Eagle Tankers as an Operations Coordinator, where they supervised daily operations of crude oil tankers and negotiated agency fees and bunkering of vessels.

Throughout their career, Tim has demonstrated expertise in legal and risk management within the maritime industry, as well as a strong background in naval architecture and engineering.

Tim Bush earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy between 1986 and 1990. Tim later pursued a Master of Marine Affairs degree in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island from 1996 to 1998. Finally, they completed their Juris Doctorate in Law at the University of Houston Law Center from 2000 to 2005.
