Gary Phan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Gary started their career as an EMT/Dispatcher at Care Ambulance Service from 2002 to 2007. Gary then worked as a Retail Coordinator at OC Weekly in 2007. From 2008 to 2016, Gary worked at Apple, starting as a Genius and eventually becoming a Lead Genius. Gary was responsible for providing support on Apple products, overseeing technicians, managing escalations, and tracking progress towards business objectives. In 2016, they joined KARMA AUTOMOTIVE DISTRIBUTION LLC as a Senior Analyst, where they provided IT support and led deployments and projects. Since 2020, Gary has been working at Better.com, initially as a Senior, IT Lifecycle Systems Administrator and later taking on roles in IT Team & Project Management, IT Lifecycle & SaaS Management, IT Infrastructure, Security, & Networking Management, and IT Support & Customer Service Management. In these roles, they oversaw and supported technicians, developed/implemented SOPs, and provided tier-2/3 support for users. Currently, Gary is a Sr Systems Administrator at Crunchyroll since 2022.
Gary Phan has a background in fire science and emergency medical technology. Gary studied Fire Science/Fire-fighting at Rio Hondo College until 2002, and Emergency Medical Technology/Fire Science at Santa Ana College until 2001. In addition to their education, Gary also obtained the certification of Fire Fighter 1 from the California State Fire Marshall in December 2001. Later on, in December 2008, they became an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician through Apple.
