Kara Dennison has a diverse work experience in the media and publishing industry. Kara started their career as a Special Features Editor at ArcaMax Publishing in 2004 and worked there until 2014. Kara then joined Crunchyroll, Inc. in 2014 as a News/Features Writer, where they wrote daily news articles on anime, Japanese culture, and other current events. Kara also worked as a Subtitle Editor/Typesetter (Contract) at Crunchyroll from 2014 to 2017.

In 2013, Dennison worked as an Editor (Contract) at Discotek Media and MangaGamer, and continued this role at Sekai Project from 2014 to 2017. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Features Writer at Viewster, and also served as an Editor/QC (Contract). Kara then joined VRV by Ellation in 2017 as a Features Writer, where they remained until 2019.

Since 2019, Dennison has been working at Sovereign Media as a Writer/Reviewer. In this role, they write book reviews for Sci Fi Magazine, covers film and television for Sci Fi Magazine and Otaku USA website, and writes features on anime, manga, video games, and Japanese culture.

Kara Dennison completed their high school education at Peninsula Catholic from 1994 to 1999. Kara then pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters at William & Mary from 1999 to 2003.
