John Ruddick

John Ruddick has had a distinguished career in wood preservation and protection, serving as President of Mychem Wood Protection Consultants Ltd since 1979. Ruddick has held various leadership roles, including Past President of both IRG-wp and AWPA Network, and maintains membership with CSA. A former professor at the University of British Columbia from 1987 to 2015, Ruddick taught courses in wood preservation, protection, and organic chemistry while conducting research in the chemistry of wood protection. Prior to this, Ruddick worked as a Senior Research Scientist in Wood Preservation at Forintek Canada Corp from 1979 to 1987. Ruddick earned a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of London and a Master's Degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Newcastle on Tyne.
