Chair Of The Technical Committee On Safety Of Cells, Tissues, And Organs at CSA

Marc Germain, MD, PhD, FRCP, serves as the Vice-President of Medical Affairs and Innovation at Héma-Québec since September 1998, overseeing medical and scientific expertise across various product lines, including blood products and human tissues. Germain also led the development of the Human Tissue division and has a history of managing microbial risks as Medical Director for Microbiology and Epidemiology. Additional roles include Chair of the Technical Committee on Safety of Cells, Tissues, and Organs at the Canadian Standards Association and former Associate Professor at Université Laval. Germain holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology from the University of Washington and a Doctor of Medicine from Université Laval, specializing in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
