Lukas Drescher

Lukas Drescher is a proficient Software Engineer at CSCS since February 2019, specializing in numerical analysis and algorithm development. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Associate at the Berlin Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2016, where Lukas focused on the implementation of Finite Element methods in areas such as quantum chemistry and electromagnetism using C++. Additionally, a brief tenure as a Guest Researcher at Inria in 2015 allowed for contributions to the development of optimal control algorithms in nuclear fusion. Lukas holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor & Master of Science with distinction in Physics, both from ETH Zürich. Mentorship received from notable professionals such as Reinhold Schneider, Kersten Schmidt, Jacques Blum, and Holger Heumann has further shaped expertise in the field.
