Carlos Capdevila has extensive experience in the field of materials science and metallurgy. Currently serving as the Director at CENIM since October 2021 and as a Research Scientist at CSIC since June 2003, Capdevila is also the Deputy Director for Science at the National Center for Metals Research in Madrid, Spain. With a focus on solid-solid phase transformations, particularly in steels, Capdevila has held the position of Tenure Scientist within the CSIC's Physical Metallurgy Department. Previous experience includes a role as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge from September 1998 to November 2000. Educational achievements include a Post-Doctoral position in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge (1997-2000), a PhD in Materials Science from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1993-1999), and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the same university (1988-1993).
