Chema Martell is the Vicepresidente de Investigación Científica y Técnica (VICYT) del CSIC. Previously, Chema served as Director and Vicedirector at the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) from 2018 to 2020. Chema's academic journey includes roles as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Missouri-Columbia and as an associate professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid between 1996 and 1999. With a solid educational foundation in Mathematics, Chema earned both a Licenciatura and a Doctorado from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
