Ester Torres Sanchez

Postdoc Researcher

Ester Torres Sanchez is a Postdoc Researcher at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas since November 2015, focusing on the recovery of Rare Earth Elements and Yttrium from Acid Mine Drainage through a RETOS project. Prior to this role, Ester worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where the emphasis was on reactive transport and hydrodynamic modelling. In 2014, Ester continued postdoctoral research at CNRS Hydrosciences, conducting laboratory experiments on arsenic removal from Acid Mine Drainage-affected streams and performing field sampling. Earlier experience includes scientific work at Universidad de Huelva, focusing on geochemical and transport modelling of Acid Mine Drainage, and a PhD at CSIC, where Ester specialized in geochemical modelling in similar contexts. Ester holds a Doctorate in Civil Engineering and a degree in Chemical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
