Ignacio Obeso

Principal Investigator

Ignacio Obeso is a cognitive neuroscientist and the principal investigator of the Control & Habit Lab at the Cajal Neuroscience Centre (CSIC). Their research focuses on the interplay between cognitive control, habit formation, and maladaptive behaviors, particularly in clinical populations such as patients with Parkinson’s disease and behavioral addictions. With a background in neuroscience and cognitive neuropsychology, Ignacio has held postdoctoral fellowships at prestigious institutions, including the University of Toronto and the Institute des Sciences Cognitives. Currently, they lead research efforts aimed at understanding the mechanisms that drive the balance between controlled and habitual actions.
