Ignacio Rubio Somoza is currently a Group Leader at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG), where they lead the Molecular Reprogramming and Evolution Lab. They have been with CRAG since 2015 and are focused on the evolution of plant-microbe interactions and plant immunity mechanisms. Ignacio completed their MSc in Biotechnology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and earned a PhD while studying at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 2001 to 2005. Prior to their current role, they held various positions, including postdoctoral researcher at the MPI for Developmental Biology and as an external advisor for Aliter.
