Javier Rojo

Research Professor

Javier Rojo has extensive experience in the field of chemistry, currently serving as a Research Professor and a Científico Titular at CSIC since January 2000, where roles include Director of cicCartuja and Coordinator of Chemical Science and Technologies. Areas of expertise encompass carbohydrate chemistry, neoglycoconjugates synthesis, molecular recognition, and carbohydrate-protein interactions, with notable work on gold glyconanoparticles as a Investigador Ramón y Cajal. Prior to CSIC, Javier Rojo worked as a Research Scientist at Boston College focusing on the supramolecular chemistry of nucleic acids (1998-1999) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Universite Louis Pasteur (1995-1998) specializing in inorganic supramolecular chemistry. Javier Rojo holds a Doctorate in Chemistry and a Licenciado in Chemistry, both from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
