Nanda Rea

CSIC Professor

Nanda Rea is a prominent astrophysicist specializing in High Energy Astrophysics, with current tenure as a CSIC Professor since October 2015, focusing on Galactic Compact Objects, Neutron Stars, Black Holes, Gamma-Ray Bursts, and multi-wavelength observations and theoretical simulations. Prior experience includes a position as Staff Scientist at the University of Amsterdam from August 2014 to September 2018, as well as roles as Research Group Leader at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas from September 2009 to August 2014 and Ramon y Cajal Researcher at the University of Amsterdam from September 2007 to September 2009. Additional experience includes a NWO Post-doctoral Fellow position at SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research and a Visiting Scientist role at the University of Sydney. Nanda Rea holds a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Amsterdam (2005-2009) and a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata (1999-2003).
