Sonia Ramos is currently a Tenured Scientific Researcher at the Scientific Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, working within the Department of Metabolism and Nutrition at the Institute of Food Science Technology and Nutrition. They also contribute as a Researcher at the Centro de Investigación Biomédicas en Red de Diabetes y Enfermedades Metabólicas Asociadas (CIBERDEM). Sonia's research focuses on nutritional biochemistry, particularly exploring the molecular mechanisms of bioactive food components, such as phenolic compounds and their metabolites, and their implications for health and chronic disease prevention. Prior to their current role, Sonia completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cologne from 2000 to 2003. They hold a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
