Andreas Schutt is a Senior Research Scientist in the Quantitative Risk Research Group at CSIRO Data61, focusing on improving grid stability in energy transmission and distribution networks using optimisation technologies. Prior to this role, Andreas contributed to developing advanced solvers for complex combinatorial scheduling and packing problems, achieving new solution methods that addressed significant benchmark challenges. Before joining CSIRO, Andreas worked at NICTA and the Fraunhofer Institute "FIRST," where they gained extensive research experience. Andreas holds a PhD in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Melbourne and a Diplom in Information Technologies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
