Deepak Adhikary is a retired Senior Principal Geotechnical Engineer who concluded their career at CSIRO in 2024 after over 35 years in the field of geotechnical engineering and mining. During their tenure, Deepak developed the COSFLOW model for simulating complex ground-water interactions and contributed significantly to the understanding of layered rock mechanics through both research and numerous publications. Prior to CSIRO, Deepak served as a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Western Australia, where they conducted pioneering research on rock slope stability and toppling failures. Deepak holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in Geomechanics from The University of Western Australia and has a keen interest in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering.
