Howard Lovatt is a Principal Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO, having returned in 2024 after serving as Chief Technology Officer at Energy Renaissance from February 2022 to October 2024. With over 30 years at CSIRO, Lovatt's research interests include renewable energy, electric and hybrid vehicles, and battery management systems. They hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Leeds and a PhD in Computer Science from Macquarie University. Lovatt has also contributed significantly to projects in electrical machines, power electronics, and the design of solar car race motors used by top teams worldwide.
