James Macdonald

James Macdonald is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO, where they manage a team of highly experienced research scientists. They have expertise in carbohydrate chemistry, total synthesis, materials chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and process development, and enjoy leading challenging projects with diverse teams. Previously, James served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia, where they developed inhibitors of carbohydrate-processing enzymes. Their educational background includes ongoing studies for a Bachelor's degree (Honours) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry at The University of Western Australia.
