John Gallant

John Gallant is a Senior Research Scientist specializing in Terrain Analysis at CSIRO, bringing two decades of experience with digital elevation models (DEMs) at various scales. They recently led a team that completed a new national DEM for Australia, utilizing data from the Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission in collaboration with prestigious partners. John is currently focused on building partnerships to develop a global 1-second DEM for environmental and infrastructure applications worldwide. With advanced degrees in geomorphology, soil science, and electronic engineering from The Australian National University and RMIT University, John excels in extracting valuable information from DEMs for various analyses.
