Keith Hayes began their research career in 1993 at the Institute of Offshore Engineering, Heriot-Watt University, focusing on quantitative risk assessment techniques. From 1996, they joined the CSIRO in Hobart, Tasmania, where they have held the role of Senior Research Scientist and currently lead the Quantitative and Probabilistic Risk Assessment Team. Keith completed a PhD in Quantitative Ecological Risk Assessment in 2000 and has since spearheaded numerous projects addressing ecological risks. Their research interests include cumulative risk problems and environmental monitoring methods, with contributions to various national and international science leadership panels. Currently, they lead a project examining the cumulative risks associated with offshore wind farms in the Gippsland Declared Area.
