Leo Dutra is a marine scientist with extensive experience in ecological economics and coastal management. Leo completed a PhD at the University of New England from 2004 to 2008, where they also served as a demonstrator and marker for biology courses. Leo has held the position of Senior Researcher at CSIRO since 2008 and was a Senior Lecturer at The University of the South Pacific from 2015 to 2018. Prior to these roles, they worked as a Research Scientist at FAPESB, focusing on coral reefs and the impact of oil transport. Leo's academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Biology followed by a Master's in Marine Geology, both from Universidade Federal da Bahia.
