Lewis Blackman

Dr. Lewis Blackman is the Director of the Biomedical Materials Translational Facility and the Research Team Leader for the Biomedical Device Technologies Team at CSIRO. With a focus on translating technologies into clinical and commercial applications, they specialize in biomedical polymeric materials and medical devices. Lewis holds a PhD in polymer chemistry from the University of Warwick and an MChem from the University of Southampton. Their extensive experience includes roles as a high school Science Coordinator and an industrial placement at Merck KGaA, where they contributed to the development of advanced materials. Lewis' research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including science translation, antimicrobial materials, and AI-guided drug discovery.
