Patrick Hartley is currently the Leader of the CSIRO Hydrogen Industry Mission at CSIRO, where they have held various significant roles, including Acting Director of the Hydrogen Energy Systems Future Science Platform. Previously, Patrick served as Research Director of Oil Gas & Fuels and held multiple leadership positions in materials research at CSIRO. Academic achievements include a role as Adjunct Professor of Applied Chemistry at RMIT University since 2015 and a Research Fellow in Colloid & Surface Science at the University of Melbourne from 1995 to 1998. Patrick earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London between 1990 and 1994.
