Paul Box

Paul Box is a geographer and political scientist currently leading research and development initiatives at CSIRO, focusing on complex system challenges in climate, disaster risk, and smart cities. They have extensive experience in science policy roles both domestically and internationally, including a notable secondment to the National Emergency Management Agency, where they contributed to national disaster risk reduction policies. Before joining CSIRO, Paul spent 14 years in Southeast Asia and Africa with the UN and various non-profit organizations, working on international development and humanitarian response. Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Land Management from the University of Reading and a Master's degree in Applied Science (Geomatics) from the University of Melbourne.
