Peter Caley

Peter Caley is a principal research scientist at CSIRO Data61, specializing in quantitative methods to address contemporary issues in environmental, agricultural, and health sciences. With extensive research experience across Australia and New Zealand, Peter has tackled diverse challenges ranging from the effects of climate change on vertebrate pests to the epidemiology of infectious diseases. Peter has held various positions in notable organizations, including Landcare Research and the Australian National University, where significant contributions were made to policy development and disease management. Currently, Peter leads the National Koala Monitoring Program, aiming to enhance understanding of koala populations for better management practices. Peter holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Ecology, epidemiology, and statistics, alongside a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science.
