Philip Larkin is an Honorary Fellow at CSIRO Agriculture & Food, where they develop cereals with enhanced health-promoting characteristics. Since 1979, Philip has served as Chief Research Scientist, focusing on genetic improvements in cereals, including virus resistance and health traits. They previously held a position as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Friedrich Miescher Institute from 1978 to 1979, working with Dr. Ingo Potrykus on plant cell culture and transformation. Philip earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors 1) in Genetics and Biochemistry from UNSW Australia and a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Genetics from the University of Adelaide.
