Stephen Gensemer

Stephen Gensemer is an accomplished physicist with a diverse background in molecular spectroscopy, quantum control, and ultracold atomic gases. Notable positions include Postdoctoral Researcher at NIST and the University of Amsterdam, Research Scientist at the University of Sydney, and Research Physicist at Penn State University, where contributions included the development and study of atomic fountain clocks and ultracold ion clocks. Gensemer has played a significant role in teaching physics at various institutions, including Bates College and Ethel Walker School, and currently serves as a Team Leader in Optical Systems at CSIRO, focusing on imaging and spectroscopy tools for environmental monitoring and atomic clock technology. Gensemer earned a B.A. in Physics from Bates College and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Connecticut.
