Stephen Ord

Stephen Ord is an accomplished astronomer and research scientist with extensive experience in astrophysics and scientific computing. Ord's career includes positions as an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (2007-2011), a research fellow at the University of Sydney (2005-2007) and Swinburne University of Technology (2001-2005), and a senior research fellow at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (2011-2016). Currently, Ord serves as a research scientist and head of software and scientific computing at the Australia Telescope National Facility (ATNF) within CSIRO, where employment spans from January 2016 to February 2025. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Astronomy from The University of Manchester, an MSc in Astrophysics from the University of Sussex, and a BSc(Hons) in Physics from the University of Leicester.
