Principal Research Scientist

Tim McVicar is a Principal Research Scientist and the Ecohydrological Time-Series Remote Sensing Team Leader at CSIRO Land and Water, a position held since 1989. They specialize in the remote sensing of biophysical functioning related to vegetation dynamics and catchment hydrology. McVicar has a strong focus on hydro-climatology and model optimization. They earned a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Remote Sensing from The Australian National University and a Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Ecology, and Physical Chemistry from The University of Queensland. Additionally, McVicar serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Hydrology and as an Associate Editor for Remote Sensing of Environment.
