Tony Murphy is a Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO, where they work with industry on developing innovative processes and tools in arc welding, plasma waste treatment, and metal additive manufacturing since 1989. Prior to joining CSIRO, Tony served as a Postgraduate Physicist at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Plasmaphysik in Germany from 1987 to 1989, focusing on radio-frequency heating of thermonuclear plasmas. Additionally, Tony has held various leadership roles within CSIRO and has been a Director at Laboratories Credit Union since 1995. Tony completed their education at the University of Sydney from 1978 to 1986.
