Mary Oates

Mary Oates, Ph.D., was appointed Chief Operating Officer in May 2025. In this newly created role, Mary oversees CSL’s enterprise Operations organization, which brings together a range of functions that includes manufacturing, quality, supply chain, technical operations and network strategy.

Mary has deep experience in manufacturing, development, quality, operational excellence and EHS. She joined CSL from Sanofi where she served as the Head of Manufacturing and Supply Vaccines. Prior to Sanofi, Mary spent 25 years in leadership roles at Pfizer, where she oversaw the Innovative Operations and Network Excellence team managing the supply of consumer healthcare and biotechnology products, and spent time leading Global Quality Operations and EHS.

Mary holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science from Queens University of Charlotte.
