Matthew C.

Matthew C. has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and marketing. Matthew started their career as an Administrative Assistant at Morrison Hershfield in 2005, where they delivered engineering analyses and assisted with project coordination. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as an ITS Student Assistant at Emory University School of Medicine, providing tech support and performing diagnostic checks of classroom computers.

In 2009, Matthew interned at DC SCORES as a Communications & Development Intern, where they conducted research for grant applications and co-wrote a successful grant worth $10,000. Matthew then served as a Resident Advisor at Emory University from 2009 to 2010, supervising a wing of a freshman residence hall and conducting one-on-one interviews with students.

Matthew continued their career at Emory University, working as a Residence Hall Director Fellow from 2010 to 2011. In this role, they supervised a 363-person undergraduate residence hall and planned weekly programs for second-year undergraduates. Matthew also promoted the Second Year at Emory brand through online newsletters and event flyers.

From 2011 to 2013, Matthew worked as a Communications & Social Media Intern at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. Matthew managed social media content, produced video content, and designed print material for various departments and events.

In 2013, Matthew joined Porter Novelli as an Assistant Account Executive, Creative, where they designed digital and print graphics and produced video content for clients such as HP, Cox Communications, GE, Bayer, and the American College of Rheumatology. Matthew also served as a Strategic Audience Services Intern during their time at the company.

From 2014 to 2017, Matthew worked at Emory University as an Interactive Communications Developer. Matthew led multimedia efforts for Emory Campus Life, focusing on web presence, video production, and graphic design. Matthew also assisted with executive communications, photography, and social media.

Currently, Matthew is employed as the Director of Communications at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists. Matthew leads a team of three and is responsible for internal and external communications. Matthew'sduties include managing sponsor/exhibitor relations for conferences, directing social media strategies, and overseeing general marketing efforts.

Matthew C. completed their Bachelor's degree in Economics at Emory University from 2007 to 2010. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) specializing in Behavioral Sciences at Emory University from 2011 to 2013.
