Meredith Lichtenstein Cone has a diverse work experience in the public health sector. From June 2012 to September 2015, they served as an Associate Research Analyst at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, where they conducted research and analysis. Following this, they were promoted to the role of Senior Research Analyst from September 2015 to February 2016. In February 2016, they transitioned into the position of Manager, Surveillance and Informatics Program, where they managed programs related to data collection and analysis. From December 2019 to May 2022, they served as the Deputy Director of Programs, overseeing various initiatives. Most recently, in May 2022, they were appointed the Director of Scientific and Surveillance Consensus Development. Prior to their work at the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, they were a Lab Researcher at the Center for Global Safe Water from February 2011 to May 2012.

Meredith Lichtenstein Cone completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Chemistry from Emory University between 2006 and 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with a specialization in Epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University from 2010 to 2012.
