Eric Smith

Eric Smith is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in sales, marketing, and strategic management within the transportation and financial sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Industrial Products at CSX since March 2019, Eric leads a team of 52, overseeing a substantial customer portfolio across diverse industries. Previous roles include managing CSX’s TRANSFLO business, where significant revenue growth was achieved, and directing corporate strategy and analytics for a prominent railroad operator, contributing to major acquisitions. With a solid background in investment management and financial analysis, Eric has held key positions at Citadel, Quality Carriers, Marsico Capital Management, and RBC Capital Markets. Eric is pursuing an MBA at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, building on a BA in Classics from the University of Colorado Boulder, earned magna cum laude.
