Sassan Saatchi

Sassan Saatchi has extensive experience in the field of environmental and sustainability research. Sassan began their career in 1991 at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Senior Scientist. During their time there, they worked on projects related to the global carbon cycle and ecosystem. In addition, Saatchi has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Environmental and Sustainability and the UCLA Institute of Environment, starting in 2000. Recently, in 2022, they founded and became the CEO of CTrees.org, an organization focused on environmental conservation. Overall, Saatchi's work experience demonstrates their expertise and commitment to advancing environmental understanding and sustainability efforts.

Sassan Saatchi holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrophysics and Applied Mathematics from The George Washington University, which was completed from 1984 to 1988. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, which was completed from 1982 to 1983. Their educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, which was achieved from 1979 to 1981.
