Gerald Smith

Gerald Smith currently serves as the EVP of Privacy at Cuebiq. Gerald has extensive experience in the field of privacy and data governance, having served as the Director of Privacy & Data Governance and Data Protection Officer at Asurion from June 2017 to September 2020. Prior to that, they were the Privacy Architect at Asurion from May 2016 to June 2017. Gerald also worked at GM Financial as the Data Protection/Privacy Officer for International Operations from November 2013 to May 2016.

Before their career in privacy and data governance, Gerald was an Advisor at a recording industry startup from January 2011 to September 2013. Gerald also worked as an LSAT Instructor at PowerScore from January 2008 to January 2011. Gerald began their professional career as an Operational Risk Consultant at Wachovia Bank/Wells Fargo Bank from January 2008 to January 2011.

Gerald Smith holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Juris Doctor in Taxation from Chapman University Fowler School of Law, and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Quantic School of Business and Technology. Gerald also holds three certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals: Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E).
