Fred Hertlein

Fred Hertlein is a seasoned data scientist and mechanical engineer with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as Data Scientist II at Curative since June 2020, Fred previously contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of California, Berkeley, where deep learning models for a text and sketch-based image search engine were developed. Prior to that, Fred held mechanical engineering roles at Matternet Inc. and frog, focusing on UAV safety systems and multidisciplinary product design, respectively. Fred's leadership experience includes directing engineering projects at BlueStamp Engineering, and an educational background features a Master of Engineering in Industrial Engineering Operations Research from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. Fred's technical skills encompass deep learning, mechanical design, and project management, alongside an educational foundation in engineering and business.
