Tim Sonntag is a Senior Research Scientist in Protein Design at CureVac since September 2019, focusing on the design and engineering of cancer vaccines and transcription factors for molecular therapies. Previously, Tim held positions as Project Leader for a BSL1 genetic engineering facility and as a Research Scientist at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where research concentrated on the molecular regulation of CRTC family coactivators and SIK/MARK kinases. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UCSD, specializing in the molecular characterization of circadian clock proteins. Tim holds a Diploma in Biology from The Philipp University of Marburg and a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from TU Dortmund, with additional certification from Heidelberg University in laboratory animal functions.
