Lead Firmware Engineer at Curi Bio

Aster Schmidt has a diverse work experience starting in 2014 as a Communications Engineer at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. From 2018 to 2019, Aster worked as a Science Outreach Educator at Pacific Science Center, providing science education to K-12 classrooms in the Pacific Northwest. Most recently, Aster joined Curi Bio in 2020 as the Lead Firmware Engineer, where they successfully led the development and release of a flagship product, collaborating with other engineering teams to design, implement, and test firmware for embedded systems.

Aster Schmidt completed their education in a chronological order. In 2013, they enrolled at Lehigh University and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Aster continued their studies at Lehigh University until 2017 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Engineering and Arts & Sciences.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Aster pursued further education at the University of Washington. From 2019 to 2021, they attended the University of Washington and obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Aster Schmidt also obtained two additional certifications. In December 2017, they obtained the Advanced Open Water Diver certification from PADI. Then, in February 2019, Aster achieved the Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) certification from the National Association of Interpretation.
