Ryan Looper has extensive work experience in the fields of chemistry and research. Ryan began their career as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Utah in 2007 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013. From there, Ryan joined Curza in 2013 as the Vice President of Discovery. Ryan held this role for an undisclosed period of time. In 2018, Ryan returned to the University of Utah as a Professor and the Jon M. Huntsman Presidential Chair in Chemistry. Ryan currently holds this position.
Ryan Looper completed their education in the field of Chemistry, with a focus on Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology. Ryan obtained a B.S. and M.S. degree from Western Washington University, where they studied under the guidance of Professor James R. Vyvyan from 1994 to 1998. Afterwards, they pursued a Ph.D. at Colorado State University, working with Professor Robert M. Williams from 1999 to 2004. Ryan then went on to Harvard University for a NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship, where they conducted research under the supervision of Professor Stuart L. Schreiber from 2004 to 2007.
