Mark Spillman

Mark Spillman is currently a Member of Technical Staff at CuspAI, where they focus on AI applications for science. They previously served as a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry for the UK Civil Service from 2017 to 2024, teaching various chemistry and materials science courses. Mark held the position of Teaching Fellow in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Reading from 2014 to 2017, where they contributed to curriculum development and student supervision while maintaining an active research profile. They also worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in X-ray analysis for Reading Scientific Services Ltd in 2014. Mark earned a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and a Ph.D. from the University of Reading, specializing in crystal structure determination.
