David Phillips

David Phillips has a diverse range of work experience in the field of IT security. David is currently working as an IT Security Lead at Cyberhaven since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at G2 as a Senior Information Security Analyst from October 2021 to May 2023, where they re-architected the company's SIEM and security operations workflows. Before that, they were a Security Administration Team Lead at Kiewit from April 2020 to September 2021, managing a team of four admins and leading deployments of various security applications. David also worked as a Security Operations Analyst at Kiewit from April 2019 to April 2020, participating in incident remediation and threat hunting activities. Earlier in their career, they served as a Security Analyst at CoreLink Administrative Solutions from April 2018 to March 2019, managing the Security Awareness program and performing Azure security investigations. Additionally, they worked as a Compliance and Info Security Intern at IPG from April 2015 to April 2018, assisting with compliance requests and executing PowerShell scripts for security controls. David also had a brief internship as an IT Intern at IPG from January 2015 to April 2015. Before entering the IT security field, David worked as an Italian Clerk at Hy-Vee and as a Student Manager at Omaha Creighton Prep.

David Phillips attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity. In January 2023, they obtained a Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge v.4 from the Cloud Security Alliance. Additionally, in March 2021, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)².
