Nick Essner

Nick Essner has over 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry. Nick is currently the Head of Cyber Solutions at CYGNVS since 2023. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2023, they worked at Accenture as the Crisis & Incident Response Lead, where they led a team of security professionals in responding to major data breaches. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Director of SOC/CIRT Strategic Consulting at FireEye, Inc. (Mandiant), responsible for assessing and building security operations and CIRT capabilities for Fortune 500 companies. Before that, from 2013 to 2014, they worked at Mandiant as a Senior Manager, Strategic Solutions Consulting, focusing on improving information security program management and cyber response readiness. From 2009 to 2013, they held various roles at HP Enterprise Security (ArcSight), including Managing Principal, Security Intelligence and Operations Consulting, and Principal, Security Operations Consulting. Nick was responsible for building security operations capabilities and implementing Global Security Operation Centers for ArcSight customers. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2009, they worked as a Senior Security Consultant at Verizon Business (formerly Cybertrust). Nick Essner began their career in 2001 as a Security Intelligence Analyst at IBM.

Nick Essner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science Information Systems from Fort Lewis College, which they attended from 1997 to 2001. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems at the University of Phoenix from 2001 to 2003.
