Kyle Stanhouse

Director of Engineering, Autonomy at Cyngn

Kyle Stanhouse has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. Kyle is currently the Director of Engineering, Autonomy at Cyngn, where they oversee the engineering team. Prior to this role, they served as an Engineering Manager, Autonomy at the same company.

Before joining Cyngn, Kyle worked at Bossa Nova Robotics from 2016 to 2020. During their time there, they held various positions including Robotics SW Engineering Manager and Robotics SW Tech Lead, Mapping & Localization. Kyle was responsible for managing software projects, leading a software team, and developing SLAM software for mapping retail spaces.

Prior to Bossa Nova Robotics, Kyle worked at RFSpot as a Robotics Software Engineer from 2013 to 2016. Kyle developed custom SLAM software and served as a tech lead for a team of engineers, conducting demos for potential customers.

Kyle's career started at Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, where they worked as a Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer and Electronics Engineer from 2006 to 2009.

In addition to their professional experience, Kyle pursued a Ph.D. in Robotics & Computer Vision at Santa Clara University from 2010 to 2013. Kyle has published research on optimizing mobile robot formations.

Kyle Stanhouse completed the C++ Nanodegree Program from Udacity in the year 2020. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2006, they pursued a Masters of Science in Robotics from Santa Clara University. In the period between 1998 and 2004, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
